Departure for the South Pacific
28th March 2007 1600 hrs
Under the command of Jim Cottier, STV Soren Larsen departed Princes Wharf, Auckland and set sail for Easter island and the South Pacific.
With voyage crew from England, Germany, Japan, Ireland, Australia, USA and New Zealand - the ship set out for the 4500 m.mile journey across the Southern Ocean.
Soren gracefully motored away from her downtown berth in a light easterly breese (which was to increase to a stiff easterly later that evening) and set course of 080 out through the Hauraki Gulf
