Soren heads for the South Seas - Latest Videos - Pacific '10 Logs and the NZ Summer '11 in Review

Soren Larsen is just completing the annual survey and dry dock in Whangarei north of Auckland and about to sail for the series of voyages in the South Pacific. It's been wonderful sailing weather this summer during the NZ coast and islands summer season and below is a roundup of new videos and pictures.

As we prepare for the Pacific there's also unseen logs, pics and reports from last season.

Tallship Soren Larsen is setting out for another season sailing in the tropics, sailing in the wake of Captain Cook's Endeavour and Resolution voyages. This feature ocean passage will take us back to the Cook Islands.

In June we cruise the outer Cooks to Samoa through the stunning islands of Raro, Aitutaki, Palmerston, Suwarrow and revisit these South Sea gems.

Sunny Samoa is another favourite and from there we cruise to the humpback whale's holiday retreat of Vava'u, northern Tonga ..

In August and September we explore outer Fiji and untouched Vanutau. Our Oct passage from Noumea brings us back to Sydney.

Random Favourite Place

This is at the Twin Waterfalls on the island of Vanua Lava in the Banks Islands of northern Vanuatu. The Sasara River plunges into this fresh water pool before flowing to the shore. Set just behind the village it is an idyllic spot for the locals and their occasional visitors to swim and hang out..
