The Save the Albatross campaign
During the last two decades of Soren Larsen's ocean voyaging we have witnessed a dramatic decline in the seabird populations. There is a very real and immediate danger that many species of Albatross will become extinct i the near future - due the current practices of the the long line fishing industry in the southern oceans.
We ask you join in our support of the Save the Albatross campaign and add your weight to the efforts being made to save these magnificent birds.

An estimated 2-300,000 seabirds are are needlessly drowned annually by long line fishing vessels. Solutions are available but need to be implemented and enforced. The links below will help us understand the urgency scale of the problem - and the solution.

- See The Times article by Mathew Parris - which perfectly captures our thoughts as we recall our encounters with Albatross on the Southern Oceans and the vivid day we spent observing their chicks in the cliffs of Tristan de Cuhna, many years ago.
Thank you to those who joined the appeal - petition signatures are still being collected to continue the campaign.
