at Raoul islands in the Kermadecs-

For the first five days of the trip the ship battled tough seas and northerlies		Nicki and Tracey contemplate the diner menu
600 miles north of New Zealand		Raoul Island's volcanic peak rises from the sea
Sunshine at last as headsails are stowed		Its a rocky shore landing here
Eric helms the Avon for a dramatic first landing		..a stern line ashore
but mind the brand new Yamaha outboard		..made it!

The island is in New Zealand administration and run by Dept of Conservation (DOC) staff and volunteers, who implement a weed eradication programme and met service.
