The Great Auckland Refit 2002
Three
months have been set aside from Soren Larsen's sailing
schedule to tackle planned maintenance and another stage
of the ship's restoration process. The Aft end below
decks is to be refurbished - i.e. the navigation area,
Master's, Mate's and Engineer's cabin are being totally
rebuilt.
28th
May 2002 - Images of the last
fortnight: The aft deck waterways are fitted and bolted
down, the deck planks are cut and shaped and being spiked.
The girls have made a wonderful job of the galley brightwork
and the aft end is starting to look quite spectacular..
