The Great Auckland Refit 2002
Three
months have been set aside from Soren Larsen's sailing
schedule to tackle planned maintenance and another stage
of the ship's restoration process. The Aft end below
decks is to be refurbished - i.e. the navigation area,
Master's, Mate's and Engineer's cabin are being totally
rebuilt.
14th
June 2002 - Images of the
last week: After all the hard work the ship is completed
and made ready for arriving guest voyage crew... The new
aft deck is oiled, the heads reassembled and the saloon
stowed with 5 months of supplies and finally cleared for
departure day.
