Here we aim to pool our information on flight routes and pricing to the Pacific and help you pick up suggestions, news and deals from others. Steve highlights a promotion that Pacific Blue have started this week:
Tuesday 10 June - " Pacific Blue is promising even more great deals with the launch tomorrow of ‘Happy Hour’ on its website, http://flypacificblue.com

Happy Hour will run from midday to 1.00pm (NZST), Monday to Friday, and will offer deeply discounted fares on Pacific Blue’s international and domestic New Zealand network.

Pacific Blue’s General Manager, Commercial, Adrian Hamilton-Manns said Virgin Blue led the way when it launched Happy Hour as a world-first a few years ago.

“We advise people to be ready at their keyboards at midday tomorrow because we’re going have some very, very low fares to celebrate the New Zealand launch.”

The aim of Happy Hour is to provide a permanent sale product which will offer bargain flights on routes that have some spare seats that would otherwise fly empty. One domestic and one international destination will usually be offered, with different routes on sale on different days."

Note Pacific Blue Fly from Auckland to Rarotonga, Samoa and from Brisbane to Fiji and Vanuatu.. so this could be worth looking at for planning connections to those voyage destinations.

Linda Toccafondi - V265B Marquesas to Tahiti:
"I am flying with Air France from Vienna via Paris and Los Angeles to Papeete.
There I take the Air Tahiti to Nuku Hiva.
Flying Home from Papeete I take Air France again. (LA to Paris and then Vienna). For the hole lot I paid 1729,64 €.
But I booked in December last year, as soon as they opened the flights. So I don’t think this rate is still available.

There was another option with New Zeeland Air flying from London, LA to Papeete. But it was about 300€ more expensive and that is about the flight from Papeete to Nuku Hiva.

Geoff Saunders V268 Samoa to Fiji:
"I am flying from the UK with Korean Airways, and it avoids the US, so is very attractive. There are 3 flights a week between Seoul and Fiji, but only 2 between Fiji and Samoa. However, one of these arrives on a Saturday, which would work well for many joining on Sunday. Because of good connection times in Seoul, the overall journey time London to Fiji is only 22 hours. I use Trailfinders here, and they are the ones who suggested it. Good fares too. "
